Not sure what a LION is...or does? We are ordinary people who come from any part of the social structure. We can have any type of job or career (or be retired). We serve humanity without thought to race, creed, nationality, religion or politics.
The motto of every Lions Club is "WE SERVE", and individual Lions Clubs decide where their priorities lie.
Our mission statement is "to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation".
Originating in 1917, Lions Clubs International has become not only the largest, but the most active service club organization in the world with over 1.4 million members in 189 countries.

How: Call the Youth Service Department at the Library to sign up (spaces limited!)
Why: As many as 5% of children 1-5 have undetected vision problems, such as amblyopia (lazy eye), or strabismus, or uncorrected refractive error that can cause permanent vision loss!
